I am about to present a different view of understanding the events of the Forth Trumpet Sounding that may profoundly challenge what you believe about the timing of the Daniel and Revelation 70th Week links. Have you ever wondered why the 70th Week in Daniel Chapter 9 is laid out with cryptic definitions of what we accept as “years”; calling them “times”? Have you ever considered Daniel 12:10, and how the 1290-day reference is the only one that does not have any type of explanation or result when it is Revealed? Let’s see if this helps shed some light on the subject.

Revelation 8: 12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

The text John wrote down from the Revelation he was given explains that the day will not shine because it is “darkened”, and the night also… How can the night be “darkened”? This is the word “σκοτίζω” can mean literally covered in darkness, or covering of eyes or understanding metaphorically. And with this, the text reveals a third of the night and day shone not, “φαίνω” which means “to become evident” or “to bring forth int the light” or reveal. What is this really saying?

What if Revelation 8:12 is saying that one third of the day and one third of the night NO LONGER EXIST? We currently live in a 24-hour day. A third of 24 hours is 8 hours. Subtracting 8 from 24 we get a 16-hour day. This would work for the verse too! If the Earth was spinning faster, and made one full rotation in relation to the Sun, “a third of the stars and moon” would be stricken from the night. Also, “a third part of the sun” would be smitten from our common perception of a day! Thin about it, an 8-hour day and an 8-hour night. Is there scripture that would back up the Idea God would change our perception of time or even time itself?

Daniel 2:20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: 21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

God created time, when in the beginning He created everything (Genesis 1:1). If time was eternal, there would be no beginning. And in Daniel 2:21, we can see that God indeed can change time, or at least what we perceive of it. And that word in Daniel for “times” is the word “עִדָּן ʻiddân’” which is literally “time” or “Year” or specifically a duration of time. Daniel is proclaiming that God can change the length of a YEAR or duration of TIME! Let’s think back to what Daniel calls years; “Time, times, and half a time”. Now we see a possible reason why Daniel was shown the specific term “TIME” instead of Year. That is, the possibility that God may CHANGE the set length of time that governs a year, for a point within the 70th Week of Daniel. This would actually create a problem, if a year or month is governed by 24-hour days, wouldn’t it? Let’s circle back for a moment and consider if God could or has ever tinkered with the rotation of the earth.

Isaiah 38:8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

Scripture actually indicates the sun moved backwards in the sky. It appears the earth actually stopped, and rotated backwards for a short time. This would certainly cause the shadow to move backwards on the face of the sundial. There is actually one other instance where time was altered in Scripture.

Joshua 10: 12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.

In the case of Joshua and the battle at Gibeon the Earth apparently stood still for part or all of a day! But even more amazing, apparently the moon did not move in the sky either. This could only mean the moon stopped rotating around the earth. So now we see the awesome power of God on His creation.

If this Fourth Trumpet Sounding is truly going to announce the speeding up of earth to 16-hour days, this could mess with the timing of the 1260-days in Revelation, that appear to link to the second half of the 70th week of Daniel in Daniel 9:27. This is because depending on where in the second half of the 70th week the event takes place, extra rotations (solar days) of the earth will cause the actual length of the 70th week to be shortened significantly. It turns out that by removing a third of a 24-Hour day, a month of thirty 16-hour days removes fifteen days from thirty 24-hour days. To explain, a 24-hourt thirty-day month is equal to 720 hours. A 16-hour thirty-day month is equal to 480 hours. That is a difference of 240 hours. 240 hours is fifteen 16-hour days. It would take three 16-hour day months to equal two 24-hour day months. So then, three months equals two months, and 90 days of 16-hours and 60 days of 24-hours is equivalent. Now consider this:

Daniel 12: 7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Daniel 12: 11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

A time, times, and half a time is commonly accepted to equal to 3.5 years. It is clear to me that in Daniel 9:24-27, a year consists of 360 days with twelve 30-day months. This is proven because, while accepting Jesus as the Messiah, Daniel’s 69 weeks (that is, 69 sevens which is 483 years) has already been accomplished to the exact moment prophesied, as proven in scripture and historical facts. The only way the math adds up is to use a 360-day year calendar. It would then make sense that the 70th week should also follow suit. So then, one would realize 3.5 times is equal to 1260 days.

Let’s say the Fourth Trumpet Sounding happens 1200 days after the “time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up”. Those 1200 days are 24-hour days, but then suddenly, the earth speeds up and now rotates one time in 16-hours. According to the 1260 day 3.5 times, there are only 60 days left until the end. Although the “day” will count out correctly to 1260 days, in actuality, there are 15 days of 24-hours missing. Adding 30 16-hour days to the other 60 will match the length of a 24-hour day 1260-day calendar. This makes 1260 days equal to 1290 days. The only difference is whether you count the 16-hour day, or ignore it and go by the 24-hour clock instead of the actual day and night solar day…

But why would we even need to do that? Keep in mind the idea that Earth speeds up 1200 days after the midpoint of the 70th week. There are 60 days, 16-hours long, that erase 15 24-hour days from the 1260-day calendar. Now look at how the 30-day month uses the moon to calculate the 30 days. It takes 29.53 days for the moon to cycle through all of its lunar faces. It was rounded up to 30 days to make it easier to calculate. Those faces, and its position in relation to the stars and sun would help determine when to plant and harvest and to track months. The position in the sky at any given hour did not have to play a factor in any of this, so the speed of the rotation of the earth played no factor. So now back to our problem. 42 months in hours is 30,240 hours. Let’s leave this alone, and say it does not change in any circumstance. We have become accustomed to knowing the faces of the moon according to 24-hour days. If these days are shortened in length by 15 days, at the end of the 42 months according to solar days, it has only completed 29,880 days of its 30,240 hour, 3.5-year cycle. So then on the solar day of 1260, the moon faces would not match the solar days. Months are always linear with 24-hour days, and 16-hour days would throw off timing using the sun, moon and stars. There are similar issues with counting 3.5 years.

There will be a dire need to change times and laws to keep 24-hour days a standard. Think about it, all clocks, Computers, and systems are built on 24-hour “unchanging” laws. To change that system would be a huge blow to modern society. But why do we need to stick to solar days anyways? We have lights and energy. Las Vegas is Daytime 24 hours a day! Why not just keep the clock system, and ignore the sun and the moon?

Daniel 7: 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

I would like to propose that the Antichrist will do exactly that. Revelation 12:12 tells us that when Satan is thrown down to earth and cast out of Heaven, he will know he has a short time. Literally, that he only has 3.5 times to complete his master plan. But suddenly his promised 3.5 years had been shortened by many days! He will want to extend that as long as possible. Why not extend time by changing God’s 16-hour days back to man’s 24-hour time?

So, to conclude, I am suggesting that the current 1260 days we currently understand 3.5 times to mean, actually means 1290 solar days. This now begs all scholars to re-look at all the prophecies aligned to the 70th week and seek the Lord’s guidance on timing once again.
